What is MCP — and which clients work?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude use local tools. Magvideo ships as a local MCP server: connect it to Claude Desktop and Claude can see, search and edit your footage by chat, while the footage itself stays on your machine. Claude Desktop is the launch client; other MCP clients haven't been validated yet. You bring your own Claude subscription — it does the thinking in chat.
Which platforms are supported?
The MCP beta inside Claude Desktop launches first, followed by the Magvideo app for Windows 10/11 (64-bit). macOS and mobile are on the roadmap — we're not promising dates.
What do I need to run it?
Windows 10/11 (64-bit). A dedicated GPU is recommended for fast local analysis; it works without one, just slower. An internet connection is needed for AI commands — local editing works offline.
